Source disk not booting in Windows 10 after cloneing

Thread needs solution

Hi everybody,

I wanted to use Acronis True Image to make a copy a an SSD. I boot the Rescue Disk and then clone the source disk to the target disk. The target disk ist working without problems. But the source disk is only booting one time and the Windows 10 tells me, that the installation has to be repaired. This comes in a eternal loop.

I have tried with Acronis 2020 Linux and Windows Rescue CDs, allways the same.

Can anybody help me?

Best regards

Eduard

Eduard, welcome to these public User Forums.

Are you attempting to boot your PC with both source & target disks connected / installed?

If so, this is not recommended as could cause one or both disks to become corrupted.

The purpose of cloning is to make a duplicate copy of the source disk and then to use the cloned target disk to replace the source disk, removing that source disk from the PC.
