TI 2020: WIN 11 home Backup error on NAS

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I’ve got the problem to backup an Acer Aspire 3 notebook (WIN 11 home) to my Synology NAS DS215J.
A backup to an USB-HD works fine, but with a NAS filesystem as destination I get the error message „Opening of Backup \\DS215J\homes\user\backup folder\backup_name.tibx failed. Please check your network connections.“

In WIN explorer I can see the NAS destination folder with full access (read, write, delete).

In TI 2020: after several attempts I get the message: „Backup error“ and the link „connection settings“ which leads to a window „Authentification settings“. With user name and password the connection test is succesfull, but clicking „connect“ leads to the error message above again.

My WIN 11 Prof notebook has no problem with backups in my home network.

Has anyone an idea to solve this problem?

I do not recall having this problem with my rather ancient Synology NAS. It is not IP address problem because you are using device name rather than IP address.

Have you tried reconfiguring the backup? One or more settings may have become corrupted. What happens if you attempt to validate the NAS?

You could try removing the backup from ATI 2022, then adding it back.

@Steve Smith may have further suggestions.
