.TIBX Format archives - What's the 411 on partial restores or non cataloged archives?

Thread needs solution

Hello.  let's get started.  Before I am flamed or moderated... YES I have read the forums... extensively! and yes I have contacted support for some of the below listed items and I am just about ready to completely walk away from Acronis for forever.  This post is a last ditch effort to plead the masses for assistance; to show me if I have missed something.  I hope my frustrations aren't warranted.

.TIBX format has caused me to lose my mind.  Changing the archive format is fine; I do not get the restrictions and limitations imposed by the software on the TIBX format.  It's all or nothing restore restore features remind me of a free product Macrium Reflect.

The limitations associated with it make some of the products near useless.

In my experience, if the archive wasn't created or has a path to restore then it wont' identify with it.

You can't explore a .TIBX file like you can a .TIB file.  This bites and makes me grit my teeth.

Next, I attempted to do a PARTIAL restore from a TIBX from the mobile back up... guess what???? You CAN'T

Also I had problems trying to do a partial restore to NEW hardware (phone) because I only want to restore some information with in the backup.)

MY GOAL: I have data from multiple .TIBX archives and I want to extract only the data I require from them.

So what have I done about it?  Contacted Tech Support.  No clear path to resolution.

I also purchased Acronis Backup (Advanced) and i am waiting on the free upgrade keys to v12.5 which supports .TIBX to see if I can restore them from there.  I dont know if i can, but at this point, I've spent good money to get my data back.

Can Anyone Offer ANY explanation or advice to to accomplish a small task of partial restore of .TIBX archive data?

Thanks in Advance.

Keith, welcome to these public User Forums.

Let me clear up one issue to start with:

.TIBX files created by Acronis Mobile Backup are not accessible via Acronis True Image unless you have an Acronis Mobile backup task listed in the ATI GUI and use the Browse button for that task, which in turn uses Acronis Drive to facilitate access to this type of .tibx backup archives!  They are not accessible via Explorer as you can do with ATI Disk or File backup archives.

Next, Acronis Backup / Cyber Backup cannot open or work with .TIBX files created by ATI.
See the link in my signature to Backup archive compatibility KB document which has a full listing of exactly what is compatible with what!
