True Image cannot find my NAS

Thread needs solution

I cannot get true image to find my WD 2 TB My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage .
I've tried dozens of ways without success.
The info given - entering a 20 digit device key and a several digit write key is just nonsense, and these numbers are NO-where to be found.
Has anybody connected to this device, and please tell how.

Clive, sorry but I do not understand what information you are referring to with regards to entering a 20 digit device key etc?

If your WD 2TB My Cloud device is installed correctly and can be accessed from your Windows computer, then it should also be fully accessible from the Acronis app too.

My WD MyCloud device has died so I can no longer test with it, but before its demise I had a public share on it which I backed up daily with ATI.  And in a much earlier configuration I had a private share on it that was the destination of ATI backups.  I had no problems with either configuration.

The network changes in Windows 10 - relating to the deprecation of SMB 1, I think - means that the My Cloud device will not show up in the Windows Network display, but the device can be reached in File Explorer by specifying the device's name or IP address.

What ways have you tried and how have they failed?  As Steve said, if Windows can see the device, ATI should see it, too.  At the very worst, you may have to do a Browse and specify the device name.

A couple other points:
There are two flavors of MyCloud: Gen 1 (with firmware level starting with "4") and and a newer Gen 2 (with firmware level starting with "2").  I believe they have a different hardware base.  Both are still supported by WD.  Both usually work with ATI but they may behave differently.  (The ATI FTP client can talk with the FTP server in a Gen 1 MyCloud but not with the server in a Gen 2 MyCloud.)  Do you know which you have?
