True Image for WD Backup with no comprassion
I am new to Acronis True Image. Using it with Western Digital MycloudEX2Ultra. I want to back up a folder of subfolder/files without using compression.
In the attached screen grabs you can see how I configured the backup. also in Screen-grab03 it shows the backup files that are created on the WDMyCloudEX2Ultra.
The backup files appear to be compressed? I want to see just the native files with all of their original file extensions. Not just one .tib file that contains all the other files.
I sit possible to backup in the way I describe where for instance a sample.jpg on my desktop hard drive would be shown as sample.jpg in the backup on the WD MyCloudEX2 versus being wrapped up into a .tib file?
Thanks in advance for any help

Thank your reply Steve. It seems that the “no compression” option actually uses compression to create the .tib files?
I am backing up about 500G to a raid NAS that has twin 2T drives. I felt I’d not need to use compression and thus could more easily and reliably access and restore a file(s) from the backup if need be. Maybe I am wrong about this?

Mark, it seems that Acronis ignores some compression settings though this has never caused me any issues that I am aware of. I leave the compression settings at their default 'Normal' value. I suspect that this is done for performance reasons as well as for space saving.

OK and thanks for confirming. I thought maybe there was something I wasn’t configuring or understanding correctly. I will likely revert back to the default normal compression.
