Unable to stop discontinued backup in ATI 2020

Thread solved

Long time ATI user (since Version 8)

Now using Acronis True Image 2020 Build 38530 with Windows 10

My problem -

Destination drive for one of my backups had to change. The backup was lost along with the ATI 2020 files. Call the backup “Desktop-C”

Using another drive I opened ATI 2020 and “Desktop-C” backup started up immediately stating “Calculating time remaining…”

The only option in the drop-down menu in the Backup section of the UI is STOP.

Clicked on STOP and 20 minutes later it’s still calculating and the program window greys-out.

Of course, if I try to start another backup in my list that backup will be queued.

Anything I can do other than uninstall ATI 2020 and rebuild all by backups?

Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Two things that you can do to stop the unwanted scheduled backup task.

First, open the Windows Services Control panel (services.msc) and set the Acronis Scheduler2 service to disabled to stop the task from being attempted on restarting Windows.
Note: remember to change this back to Automatic after the second action or no tasks will be able to run.

Second, download the Acronis Scheduler Manager tool (link below), and use this to identify your unwanted scheduled task identifier and delete this from the schedule.  See the KB document for the tool for help on using the options it provided.

Note: if needed, you can just issue the command:  task zap
this will clear the scheduled entries for all your backup tasks, so you would need to set these again.

Thank you Steve.

Worked flawlessly.

Imagine, all these years didn't know about the schedule manager and it was right under my nose.

Cheers.
