unknown error during the restoring process (0x4001A) / Failed to activate Acronis bootable media

Thread needs solution

Hello.

Using on Windows 10 pro on a PC which run a cpu Intel I9 9900k. Trying to restore 3 partitions that I have backtupped some days ago using Acronis True Image 2020. They are 2 recovery partitions and one EFI partition, the partitions created by Windows 10 when you install it the first time. The SSD disks have the same space because I'm trying to restore the informations on the same disks where they come from. I begin the operation, select the appropriate disks, and the process begins. In a few seconds, I see the message:

"Reboot is required. A reboot is required to complete this operation. Note that the operation will be canceled if you choose not to reboot now." I approve a reboot, then the process stops with this error message :

unknown error during the restoring process (0x4001A)

$module ="trueimg_home_media_glx_22510"

execute : c:/bs_hudson/worksplace/23/

products/imager/archive/impl/operations/archive3/

restore_operation.cpp(482)

end of the file reached (0x40002)

$module = "trueimg_home_media_glx_22510"

ReadlineFromStdout : c/bs_hudson/

worksplace/23/home/backup_worker/impl/

process_io.cpp(93)

so,what I do ? the windows installation where I wanted to restore that partitions is not bootable anymore !!!!! I had to reinstall Windows 10 on another disk and I've installed acronis true image again. And then I repeated the same operations as before. This time I've got another error :

Failed to activate Acronis bootable media.

More information about this error and solutions may be available online in the Acronis Knowledge Base.
To access the online resource manually, enter the event code at: https: kb.acronis.com errorcode

Mario, welcome to these public User Forums.

Are you using a trial version of ATI 2020 here for this recovery?  From your comments it would seem to be the case.

Have you created the ATI 2020 rescue media on a USB stick or DVD disc?

From your description above, you have attempted to do a Disk Recovery from the ATI 2020 GUI running within Windows 10 which then will always require a reboot in order to boot the computer into a temporary Linux based OS environment from which to perform the operations.

See KB 2768: Trial version limitations of Acronis products which is available in many languages and which states that for trial versions of ATI there is no Linux functionality, therefore this type of recovery operation needs to be performed from the Windows PE based 'Simple' version of the Acronis Rescue Media.
