When to change boot order in BIOS

Thread solved

Should I alter the boot order in the BIOS when I create the bootable media?  Or can I wait until I need to use the bootable media?

David, welcome to these public User Forums.

No need to touch the BIOS when creating bootable media.

Depending on your computer, you may be able to use a Boot override function key to bring up a menu of boot options when needing to use the rescue media, i.e. Dell uses F12, other makes use a mix of Esc, Del, F2 etc.

You may also be able to select the boot device from within Windows 10 by holding down a Shift key while clicking on Restart to bring up the Windows Recovery Menu, where you may see an option to use a different device to boot the system.
