Windows Share Inaccessible With Credentials of a Standard User

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis 2020 currently backing up to a Windows 10 network share on a separate Windows machine.

It works fine when I connect via the Admin user credentials, but when I try to connect Acronis to the machine using the credentials of a standard user, it gives the message "Connection Failed."

Is this expected, or is there something I can do to resolve this issue? I want Acronis to connect using the credentials of a standard user to mitigate any attack by network worms/ransomware etc..

Richard, welcome to these public User Forums.

All versions of ATI require to be run with Administrator privileges as documented in the ATI 2020 User Guide - System Requirements section.

You should be able to install ATI 2020 from an Admin account, then setup your backup tasks from the same and set these to be scheduled to run automatically without the admin user needing to be logged in at those backup times.
