2021 slows PC dramatically after installation.

Thread needs solution

As the lead says, after installing 2021 on my desktop PC and laptops - all running Windows 10 Pro with latest updates, the HD goes into full activity, as though it was going thru and perhaps indexing each and every file on the HD. When this happens, ALL other operations of the PC's slows to a crawl. Just out of curiosity, I let whatever procedure the Acronis 2021 is doing run - and it took a full 36 hours to complete. There are other operating issues with 2021, but for now, I'm curious if others are seeing this one - it happens on each of my PC's, so I assume it's not a rare occurrance? For the record, I do NOT have the HD indexing feature activated in the windows 10 HD utility...

Gary, I would suspect that the performance impact is caused by the new Protection features that Acronis have imposed on users, assuming that you are using an edition where this is fully enabled?

I would recommend opening the Protection page in the GUI and then opening the Settings via the button in the lower right corner.  You can control different aspects of Protection in the panels that are shown, including what is scanned by the antivirus feature and setup exclusions.  The default scanning options are somewhat invasive if you have multiple installed drives or connected external drives etc.

Please submit Feedback using the tool in the GUI to make your concerns about the performance impact of ATI 2021 known directly to them!
