2nd & subsequent Full backups take much longer than first (Incremental method)

Thread needs solution

With ATI 2021, I have found that the 2nd & subsequent Full backups take much longer than the first (Incremental method).  After opening a support case with Acronis, I was advised that this is a known issue with some customers, and that I should use the Cleanup Utility to remove ATI and then reinstall it.  After completing the recommended steps and then running a series of test backups, I am still observing the same behaviour.  The test backups times, for approximately 700GB data, were: 1st backup took (no validation) 6hrs, 2nd took 7hrs, and the 3rd took 8hrs.  The backup is of the Entire PC and the destination is an external USB drive.  I am also repeatedly checking the defragmentation level of the destination and it consistently reports as 0%.

Since Acronis has advised me that this is a known issue with some other customers, I am wondering whether anyone else who has experienced this may be able to comment on their attempts to resolve this issue?

Rodolfo, I would recommend taking a read through the following forum topics:

Steve, Thank you for the links to those topics.  I have since created a support case with Acronis, and they have confirmed that this is a known issue that they are working on.
