Acronis 2021's Survival Kit

Thread needs solution

The Acronis 2021's Survival Kit does not work on my PC.  The moment I create one, Acronis slows down to snail pace, sometimes it just crashes.  Without recreating the Survival Kit, Acronis works like the way it should be.   My backup scheme is "Full".  Any idea why?  My windows has the latest build, which is 20H2.  For the time being, I have a Rescue Media disc and the backups of the system.

David, welcome to these public User Forums.

Creating an Acronis Survival Kit shouldn't cause any performance impact on your system under normal circumstances unless you have other software which is attempting to monitor the created partition etc.

If the Survival Kit is disconnected after being created, again, there should be again no performance impact.

If you are saying that it is the process of creating the Survival Kit that causes the impact, then the place to start here is with the Media Builder log file for that process.

There is a new MVP Assistant log viewer tool that has now been made available by Acronis via the Community Tools page..

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backup using same) then look in the Demon logs.

Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.

The log files should be zipped to preserve their original file names if sharing in the forums and would need to be less than 3MB in size, otherwise you would need to share the zip file via a Cloud share service such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc.

Hi David,

Start True Image as an Administrator. Then create your Survival Kit.

The last security update no longer allows access as a user. Even if your user has "administrative" rights, he is still not full admin. You can avoid this by "right-clicking" as administrator.

The ATI 2021 User Guide (and all earlier versions) states clearly:

Other requirements

  • You need to have administrator privileges to run Acronis True Image 2021.
