Acronis backup folder on WDMyCloudEX2Ultra "could damage your PC"

Thread needs solution

Today I uploaded 380GB to my NAS through AcronisTrueImage. It is the main stuff of my PC stored on WDElements USB external disk and in OneDrive. I wanted a home copy of my OneDrive files. The upload took ca 15 hrs. When I tried to open the backup I had a file called "OneDrive-full-b1-s1-v1". I had the option to open and waited 30 minutes of opening process before I stopped the action. Then I got the warning that this file might damage my PC (a SurfacePro3). I have limited HD on my SurfacePro so my stuff is on WDElements 2TB external USB.  A great deal of my stuff is complicated collections of image folders and files. I also tried to backup of a single folder with big collection of subfolders and images through Acronis. The backup resulted in folders without images. I now have MyCloudEx2Ultra "Public" drive as part of my PC network but I get the warning that Access to files on that drive could do harm to my PC All backups done through AcronisTrueImage. I thought I had followed rules. I have selected RAID1 option for the 2x WDred 4TB HDD on my NAS. Now I wonder if I should select iSCSI. What would be the advantage? I suppose I should delete the backups already done?  What are the benefits of the Acronis backup system? Next I will try USB backup to NAS. How can I access single files on a big backup of multiple folder system on my NAS without downloading the whole drive as I undestand my Acronis upload is demanding?

Some questions:

  1. Are all the files for your backup source from your SurfacePro contained in your OneDrive folder on the PC?
  2. Do you have Files on Demand enabled for OneDrive?

If the answer to the above is Yes, then there are issues here in that ATI cannot backup files in OneDrive that are not actually present on the PC disk drive, i.e. are represented by reparse points that redirect to the OneDrive cloud storage.
