Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini - killing Office

Thread needs solution

Happy Acronis user for many years. Has saved my bacon on many occasions.

Today had strange issue. Opening Office desktop apps, I was confronted by a "Updating Office please wait" message - then , despite having verifiable latest version of Office 365 installed.

Quick troubleshoot led to fixes involving disabling non MS services one by one until problem resolves.

Did this and about the fifth one I tried was Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini. Sure enough, the issue was resolved. Switched the service back on...Office killed. Turned off, Office fine.

Lots of reports in this forum of rediculous CPU use and disk use by this service. Keeping off for the time being - but would be interested in any advice. Could it be a system DLL that is used by this service that's actually causing the conflict?

Your report here is the first that I have seen that connected the Acronis MMMS service with causing problems with MS Office 365.

I can only recommend reporting this to Acronis by opening a support ticket direct with them so that they can investigate this in more depth.
