Acronis Protection vs other Anti-Virus software

Thread needs solution

In the past I've installed Acronis whilst already having an Anti-Virus solution running (in my case Avira) and so that part wouldn't enable, but now I've had to reinstall everything and obviously installed Acronis first to restore my data, I realise this is now running as a full anti-virus application and windows is happy with that!

So my question is, is it any good?  Do you guys here use it, or disable it and stick to existing AV solution?

I for one do not use it.  I found during beta testing that it simply took too long to run and was not user friendly.  I wish that there was a way to remove it completely from True Image instead of simply turning it off and leaving its services running in the background consuming computer resources.

I agree with Virgil and have the new Acronis Cyber Protection disabled as far as is possible but this still leaves all its background services running.  I am staying with the integrated Windows Defender which suits my needs.

Acronis have an internal change request: TI-213392 Allow installation without Antimalware components which is being worked on, which I would encourage all users to add their vote for by submitting Feedback quoting the above request details!

I do NOT use Acronis Cyber Protection.  I seem to have been perfectly safe for the past several years running and keeping Win10 and Win10 Security up to date.

thanks all, I will do as you suggest and reinstall Avira.  I did think 8 hours for a full scan of my pc was excessive!
