acronis scheduler2 service persists after deinstall

Thread needs solution

Hello all,

I deinstalled ATI from my PC, got a refund and went to another solution.

I still got Disk Director which is OK for me.

But Acronis scheduler2 service persists after deinstall. I tried schedmgr.exe as an administrator, ran the 3 commands, but still the service remains...

How do I do please ? Thanks.

Philippe, if you have done a normal uninstall of ATI 2021 via the Windows Control Panel > Programs & Features, and followed this by doing a windows restart, then there should be no further Acronis Services active.

If you want to fully clean out all remnants of ATI 2021, then download and run the Acronis Cleanup tool (link below) but be aware that this will also remove Disk Director too, so you will need to reinstall this after restarting the computer.

In the interim, open the Windows Services control panel and look for any Acronis Services shown there.  A normal uninstall should have removed all these but if any are still present you should be able to change the startup action to be Disabled.  A restart will be needed to stop any running services that do not permit being stopped!

Run the Windows Task Manager and then open the Services tab, and click on the Services control panel link shown at the bottom of the window.

Having any of these services still running suggests that ATI was not fully uninstalled.

Thanks, done it.

Hello,

sorry, it desappeared well when I deinstalled ATI using cleanup tool, but when reinstalling disk director, the service came back...

it seems DD needs it ??

Thank you.

Philippe, I don't have any PC's with just DD installed so haven't noticed that the Scheduler service was installed by DD but given it was gone after using the cleanup tool and came back when you reinstalled DD, it says that DD does use it!
