Acronis Update turns on Protection and reverts manual changes

Thread needs solution

Hello,

today ATI saved myself a lot of time with a working system restore. Thanks for that.

While working with ATI and the damaged Windows system I was puzzled that ATI Protection was turned on since the last update (11/20). Not only that, but a manual change required by KB62200 (rename ti_managers_proxy.dll) was also reverted and the windows logfile were flooded with errors again.

Is this expected? Can you please not revert changes recommended in the KB or offer a permanent solution.

And please let us uninstall the protection part of the product.

Christoph, any update to ATI 2021 will undo any changes to the core application executables and services but should not alter the Protection status!

I did the upgrade on my main laptop yesterday from #34340 to the new #35860 and all my disabled / stopped Acronis Services were back enabled and running again etc, but despite the fact that I had all Protection 'Turned off permanently' which it eventually respected, it still spent ages downloading protection updates for a feature I don't want to use!

At the end Protection remains turned off permanently, and I have reversed the other changes by running a powershell script I created for this purpose (to save making manual changes!).

For the ti_managers_proxy.dll issue, then perhaps running a powershell or batch script at logon to check for the file and renaming if found to be reverted back would solve this for you.
