ATI 2021 Antivirus Scan - so slow
Hi there,
First post in this forum. I just installed ATI 2021 over my previous 2020 copy, and the antivirus scan in the protection tab seems to be unbelievably slow. I started a scan at 10:00 this morning and as of now (16:00 the same day) the progress bar has not even started to move and it is saying "Calculating time remaining". A grand total of 2,904 files checked so far in the day, which works out to about about 8 per minute, which is impressively poor. I know that the program is doing something because it has been reading from one of my HDDs at about 150MB/s since I started the scan, so what on earth can the program be doing with all that data??
FYI my system is not cutting edge but neither is it slow: Intel i7 7700K, Z270 Chipset, 32GB DDR4 RAM at 2400Mhz, 1070Ti GPU, 500GB Sata SSD and 8TB of HDD storage (4TB RAID and 4TB conventional).

Hi Enchantech,
Many thanks for your reply. You are right, I do have Malwarebytes on my system, although the window doesn't look exactly like the one you posted:
After I made my original post I stopped the process and did a quick scan, and that succeeded. However it only scanned my C drive where I keep the OS and apps, and not my Raid drive where I keep all my actual data, or my on-board backup drive which holds only .TIB archives. Are you suggesting I disable Malwarebytes and try a full scan?

I also run Malwarebytes and during the beta I attempted a full scan with True Image. I could never get it to complete or run properly because it is so poorly implemented and lacking in flexibility. I'm currently running True Image 2021 Standard and have not enabled the Cyber-protection trial that's included. I recommend you use Malwarebytes as your primary scanner until the many deficiencies in True Image Cyber-protection are corrected. Us the Protection settings page to turnoff the Anti-virus scanning and associated features. Just leave the Ransomware and Illicit Cryptomining protection enabled. The quick scan will run properly but the full scan is to be avoided.

Ed,
I suggest you open the Settings window and turn off Acronis Antivirus. This should eliminate any conflict that might exist.

Thanks Enchantech and Thomasjk, that's really helpful. To be honest I have been running Malwarebytes alongside Windows Defender for the last 5 years, and have never had a single problem so I trust that combo, and I think I will avoid Acronis cyber protection for now!

Understandable, I use another product myself this why my window looks different than yours.
What's bothersome is that Cyber Protect should have recognized Malwarebytes and left it in charge of antivirus duty. If you enabled Cyber Protect yourself then at the same time you should have disabled Malwarebytes. Having both running at the same time causes a conflict.
