ATI 2021 makes PCPro A-List - I am amazed!

Thread solved

Just got the January 2021 issue of PC Pro via ZINIO and ATI 2021, together with IDrive Personal and Paragon Backup & Recovery 17 CE are in the A-List. In that issue there is a review of 22 backup solutions. IDrive Personal was the Labs Winner, with ATI 2021, Ashampoo Backup Pro 14 (the testing was presumably undertaken before the release of version15), and Paragon Backup & Recovery 17 CE all made the recommended listing.

I am somewhat surprised that they did not report any of the issues with ATI 2021 that many of the users of this forum have experienced with ATI 2021.

I would guess it would depend on the test bed system the reviewers were using for the tests. I suspect that this would not have had any of the key factors that most users have in play when using ATI with the new Protection features and associated issues!

I do not recall any information being given of the specifications of the test bed.

The only reference in the review to the protection aspect was tangential. It is possible that they disabled some or all of those modules. They did not mention replica nor the ability to have a task run when a USB storage device was connected. The ability of another product to do the latter was mentioned. In another review they lamented the inability to do what replica does.

It was interesting that the speed of ATI cloud backups was better than most other products with that feature.

Given the fact that PC Pro magazine is based in London I would think that internet connectivity is very robust thus the good results reported for cloud backup.

Most testing and review sites use newer platforms with minimal software installed for testing new software products.  This avoids issues with other products obviously.

I can say that my installs on a variety of hardware of TI 2021 from a performance perspective show that the older the hardware the poorer the performance.  Having said that performance has not proven to be detrimental to any significant degree on the hardware tested.
