ATI 2021 runs scan when everything disabled
Serious problem. While on a TeamViewer sesison with Acronis tech support they noticed high activity on the drive to which a backup was being made, and looked at various logs. I said Norton 360 never caused that to happen. I then checked the protection tab and despite everything being turned off it was doing a scan. They took a screenshot to verify that oddity.
Not how things should be working. Will provide an update. They have be at it for 90 minutes plus and were about to finish when pick up the oddity. System report currently being transferred.
I will update on progress.
Have a dim recollection of doing a manual start to scan some days back, and I am sure I paused/stopped the scan when I had problems with extraordinary backup times, and noticed it was scanning *.tibx files that were part of the backing. The tech support were surprised by this behaviour.

Am definitely not impressed by the new Protection features and have completely turned them all off on my main laptop, originally due to the sleep issues but now because they cannot be controlled, i.e. I cannot reliably enable / disable Protection. When I try it goes back to turning off again after a few seconds. This should never have been released with all these serious issues!

What really annoys me is that they made some very significant changes to that part of the software between beta 2 and the release version. In retrospect they should have had a beta 3. Most of these issues would have been picked up within a few days.
Had another major problem this evening. Undertook a manual cleanup of a local backup- left it to run while having my evening meal. When I returned the PC was completely frozen. No response from mouse or keyboard. Had to do a hard reset. Not yet had an opportunity to see what happened to the cleanup.

I think the fix was to disable scanning on all drives so Acronis can't scan anything.

I have asked for my vote to be added to this incoming feature request too!
I have not seen this happen again with the latest build 32010. I have "old" malware protection enabled, but disabled the new protections. No feral virus scans have happened.
