ATI2021 Protection -> Outlook OST-file quarantined, BSOD and Sleepmode not functioning anymore

Thread needs solution

CONTEXT:
Acronis True Image V2021 Build 30290
WIN10Pro x64 V2004 OS Build 19041.450
I upgraded to the new ATI2021 without any issues on Saturday Aug. 22nd

SITUATION:
-    Manually started ATI2021-AntiVirus. After 6h AV stopped and was stuck on a file.
AV detected 15 false positives, worst of all the Exchange .OST-file was quarantined.
I could restore all the files from quarantine but not the OST-file!

Outlook did a good job by restoring the OST-file. This took more than 5h!
Meanwhile I had no email, no agenda, no contacts!!

ATI2021 had still the OST-file in quarantine. Since I could not release it, I have put the Quarantine Period to 1 day. This morning ATI2021 emptied its  quarantine and deleted the OST-file again.
Result: Outlook is rebuilding the OST-file again!
Again, no up-to-date email, agenda or contacts.

Each time the SearchIndex has to completely be rebuilt. This also, takes hours to be completed.

-    Since the installation of ATI2021, the PC does not go in Sleep Mode anymore. I guess some Acronis Protection Service keeps the PC alive.

-    I also rebooted the PC. It came back with a BSOD with an error due to a conflict with a program than worked flawlessly before and is automatically launched at startup. I removed that program and the BSOD disappeared.  Took me 2h to debug.
Error message : STOP 0×00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA – win32kfull.sys"

QUESTION:
How can I reinstall ATI2020 again?
Where do I find it?
I am not a betatester, I have a business to run and I have already lost too much time with this new version.

I do NOT need an extra AV. I have a good AV solution since years!

They made changes between the last Beta and the release version that does this - I had it happen to an *.pst but not to *.ost. In my case apparently caught the file in two locations. However neither is the one that is being used as they both have zero size and have not been modified since the day I installed the release version.

This is potentially a big issue as they are both excluded from disk and partitions backup, and only *.pst are backed with files and folders.

Have a dim recollection that you can exclude archive folders from the scan - not sure if they can be classed as archives.

Luk, welcome to these public User Forums.

First, please submit Feedback with your comments above so that this gets seen urgently by Acronis.  I was a part of the Beta testing program and found it pretty incredible that Acronis ended that program so quickly and without warning, then launched ATI 2021 before they had fixed many of the serious issues being reported by beta users!  I know of 2 MVP's who have already removed 2021 due to issues!

You can download a copy of ATI 2020 from the official Acronis download site here but you will need to turn off the automatic checking for updates after reinstalling it.

To reinstall ATI 2020 you first need to fully remove ATI 2021 - uninstall this via the Windows Control Panel, Programs & Features option, or use a tool such as Revo Uninstaller to do this.

Check for C:\ProgramData\Acronis folders being left over and remove or rename these after doing a Windows restart following the main uninstall process.

Ian and Steve,

I submitted Feedback to Customer Support, this morning. I am (still) waiting for an answer.

I'll revert to ATI2020, and switch off automatic updates ;-)

Thank you for support!

Luk.

The way Outlook works, it may not be possible to retrieve an *.ost once it has been deleted; you can do it easily with *.pst files. You cannot mount *.ost files, unlike *.pst files.

I have disable protection as some of my email accounts would take a long time to download.

I have reported this issue directly to the Product Manager, Renata. It is being investigated.

Luk, I can confirm that I am also seeing the loss of sleep mode function on my main laptop where I have installed ATI 2021.  I have submitted Feedback to Acronis about this and also added this further critical issue to my own topic:  ATI2021 significant critical issues

Hello everybody,

Has anyone got any news from Acronis on a new build of ATI2021 that corrects all the flaws that have been reported until now?

I haven't received anything related to my Feedback and emails! :(

Thanks for sharing,

Luk.

Luk, no news of any new build yet - I would expect a sticky topic to be posted in the 2021 forum when one is available plus it should show on the Account page if you have checking for updates enabled.

See my update here on the sleep issue.

It could be a while. As Steve says, will will not be given advanced warning or a timetable.

There are several issues they are working on, and some new ones popped today. Hopefully they will rigorously text the next build before it is released.
