backup from ati boot-cd not synology nas

Thread needs solution

Hello, is it possible, to back up from ATI boot cd to synology nas without using the ftp-funktion? If so, how can you create a network-connection to Synology nas with ATI-boot-Cd?

sincerely

Create the Acronis 'Simple' Windows PE version of the Rescue Media which should then have support for your wired network card and perhaps also a wireless connection if a supported driver is found.

Wired connections are recommended for this type of scenario because of better performance and reliability.

You would probably need to check that you can access your Synology NAS by using it's IP address and providing the credentials needed for the NAS location.

See KB 65508: Acronis True Image 2021: how to create bootable media and KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

Yes you can create a backup without the FTP function.  This is the recommended method.

When you reach the point of selecting the backup location destination (your NAS), click on the Browse button which will open a new screen.  At the bottom of that screen is a path field. place your cursor there and type in the path to your NAS in the format that follows

\\DeviceName\ShareName

If the location is a password protected a credentials prompt will appear.  Enter the credentials for the NAS share.  Once authentication occurs then you should be taken to the share location.  Once you have the destination folder selected then click the Generate name button which will name the file MyBackup.tibx.  You can then modify the backup name to your liking.

Continue configuration of the task and at the end select Proceed.
