boot iMac from Acronis Bootable Rescue media (2021)

Thread needs solution

Hello forum,

I would like to make a systemimage of an iMac without installing TrueImage on it.
The approach to install TI and remove it after building a bootable rescue media is not possible/allowed.

Ok, I tried the following approaches:

- in "Startup Security Utility", "No Security" and "Allow booting from external media" is
  activated

- i downloaded AcronisTrueImage2021_34560.dmg from my Acronis account

- booting this iMac with this option-key does show the EFI-devive (beside the Macinstoph HD),
if the original Acronis TI-DVD 2021 is inserted, but booting from it does not work.

- booting the iMac with "Command + R", into  the "macOS Utilities" -> "quit macOS Utilieties" ->
"choose startup Disk" does list AcronisTrueImage and the Macinstoh HD, but not
the attached USB-drive with AcronisTrueImage2021_34560.dmg (burned as "bootable Linux" with PowerISO)

- using TransMac in oder to produce a bootable USB-stick  (with AcronisTrueImage2021_34560.dmg) does not produce a bootable USB stick :)

Question:
- What I am doing wrong?

Thank you very much for any help!

Ralph

PS
- To my knowlege DVD's as bootable rescue media are not supported in TI2021 any more.
- as external DVD-drive a drive from LG is used. Windows- and Linux Machines are bootable
  from this DVD-reader

Ralph, sorry but you will probably need to either raise this directly with Acronis Support or else in the dedicated ATI for Mac Forum.

Caveat: I am a Windows user with no direct experience of using ATI on any Mac.

See KB 65508: Acronis True Image 2021: how to create bootable media

User guide: Recovering your Mac

The common theme is that it is recommended to create the rescue media from the installed application with no obvious reference to using the downloaded version of the media!

Thank you very much Steve for your help.

I finally posted my questions and experiences with ATI 2021 for MAC under:
