Does someone clone my hdd?

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone!

Guys, help me plz.

We have: laptop, ssd, win10. We need to know does anyone 'cloned' this ssd or not. 100% it was made by Acron.

Maybe using SMART or other info in sectors? Maybe Acronis leave some sign...Any ideas?

Maxim,

Did you mean to say Acorn instead of Acron?

Either way this disk or laptop as you call it is quite old.  It is more important to know what filesystem is used on the laptop.  If the filesystem is supported then you are more likely to have success with any imaging product.

Nope, don't know what is Acorn.

Sure, laptop is old. Filesystem NTFS. May be you can detailed answer?)

Acronis True Image supports the NTFS file system so imaging and cloning should be achievable.

Do you know what boot mode the laptop uses?

My suggestion to you is refer to the user guide and read up on Cloning and Recovery.  True Image is not a click here and click there solution.  So without a fairly good understanding of what you are doing your failure rate with either method is above average.

Hello Maxim,

according to my colleagues, there is definitely no way to determine if a source machine has been cloned. As for the target drive - we may write some information to the registry, but it's all cleaned up after the first boot, so really no way of telling the difference.
