encrypt a clone image

Thread needs solution

Can a clone image be encrypted? (not related to BitLocker)

Can a clone image be stored in a cloud? (not Acronis cloud)

Don, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry the answer to both of your questions is NO!

If you switch from thinking about Cloning to using Backup images, then the answer would be YES!

You can encrypt any backup images provided this is done when the task is created before any image is made.

Where you store the backup image is up to the user but you would need to manually copy any images to a third-party cloud as Acronis only support their own Cloud for direct storage.

Storing images in a cloud is further complicated when using ATI 2020 or later and making disks & partitions backup images, as these now use .tibx format files with increased interdependencies through the use of metadata, plus incremental backups are consolidated automatically into the initial full backup image meaning that the whole file has to be uploaded again (and again...).

See link in my signature dealing with the differences between cloning and backups.
