Error when attempting to recover a file

Thread solved

I receive the following when I attempt to recover a file in 2021.  This occurs immediately when I select recovery.  If I follow the directions and go to the Knowledge Base and enter the event code I get a not found message.

John, have any files associated with this backup task been deleted outside of ATI 2021, i.e. using Explorer?

Have you tried looking at the backup file in Explorer by double-clicking on it then opening the folder showing the date / time for the backup segment you are trying to recover files from?

Steve, I have done nothing to the backups.  They are exactly as output from 2021.

The only recovery option I have is the backups themselves.  There two of them, C Drive and Drive.   I get the error on both.

FWIW,  I was able to open the last backup TIBX file and copy the file I wanted to recover manually.

John, do you have the Options > Advanced > Validation set to enabled for validation checking?

Your initial screen image suggests that a validation had been run, but wonder if ATI was still doing further validation actions when you were trying to open the Recovery page?

Not sure what else to suggest here as this is is a new error to me that I don't recall seeing anyone else reporting in the 2021 forums?

It is possible that something might be logged in the Backup Worker logs for when you got this message.

There is a new log viewer tool that has now been made available by Acronis via the Community Tools KB page.  See the link in my signature for the MVP Assistant tool.

Steve, would it make any sense to reinstall 2021, clear the backup folders and restart the backups again?  Can I reinstall 2021 upon itself without removing the original?

John, you could do a Repair Install as per KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - though I do not know if this would change anything?

Don't ask me why or how, but the issue is resolved.   I went back to the install file and did a repair install.  Issue has now gone away.  It appears that somehow 2021 had gotten corrupted.

John, glad that the issue is gone after the repair install!  Thanks for the feedback.
