Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm quite newbie to RAID & SAS and trying to work with both :)

So I have 2 Seagate SAS SSDs (1200.2) connected to LSI 9217 4i4e SAS Controller.

in the LSI utility I can't create a RAID0 volume rom the both of them. Trying to format them from the LSI utility fails as well.

In windows 10 I can see both disks but I can't initialize them nor format them.

When Using Seagate DiscWizard I get this error message from the subject.

Both smarmontool and SeaTools for windows show these disks are working properly.

They were pulled out from a server if that helps...

I don't know how I can initialize/format or any other needed action in order to get them available in Windows 10.

Would appreciate any help :)

It's possible that the drives are locked.

See section 6 of 1200-2-sas-ssd-product-manual-100773817d.pdf from Seagate's site.

Not sure what procedure or tool you'd need to use to unlock them or simply factory restore them.  Try asking Seagate.
