“File system error is found”

Thread needs solution

Hi,

First post- I’ve been using ATI for years without issues. ATI2021, latest build down loaded today.

For weeks now, I can’t get an image backup using any backup scheme to finish on local drives. Cloud version finishes fine (TBD if it is valid since you can’t validate a cloud version).

Anything tried locally runs in spurts and finally issues “ file system error is found”. I can assure that the disks are fine- both my WD NAS and another WD USB drive have no errors on CHKDSK. I even backup up my entire NAS ( not using ATI) and completely formatted the NAS- no change. The host PC being backed up also has no CHKDSK errors.

as mentioned the cloud image backup completes.

ATI protection is completely turned off.

//begin rant

Honestly I’m fed up with ATI- I just want something that works when I need it!

//end rant

seriously, any advice? can the cloud version be downloaded locally in its entirety in case I ever need it?

Else, can I revert back to ATI 2019 ( I know the  current versions won’t be compatible and I will have to redo them)

thanks!

Steven, welcome to these public User Forums.

There is a new MVP Assistant log viewer tool that has now been made available by Acronis via the Community Tools page..

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backup using same) then look in the Demon logs.

Please use the new log tool and post a zipped copy of the Backup Worker log file where the file system error is being reported (or zip the Backup Worker folder itself).

File system errors are primarily reported for the source file system, not the destination and can arise from hidden / system partitions which do not have drive letters assigned and are not checked by CHKDSK.
