forced Cloud-'Zwang' since True Image 2021 - 1 year subscription 250GB

Thread needs solution

Hello,

we cant run TI 2021 because of some s.... sort oft forced cloud account. We put in the correct s/n. After that a forced cloud account  s.... form comes up and we cant skip it.

If this will be your forced company policy, we will switch TI for our customer to an other product. In TI 2020 some kind of s... cloud accounts could be skipped - but with 2021 not.

I guess this also violate EU GDPR for our customers with sensitive data who not wish any kind of cloud storage.

How can we use TI 2021 without a cloud account?

best regards

michael

Michael, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you have purchased a subscription for a version of ATI 2021 that includes Cloud storage (250GB) then the only requirement is that you must sign in to your Acronis Account in order to show that your PC is being associated with a license for that subscription.  You do not have to store any backup data in the Acronis Cloud, that is just one option that is available to you for possible backup destinations to use.

When / if you choose to store data in the Acronis Cloud, then you also have the option to encrypt that data (providing this is configured when the task is created before any backups are created) which would provide the data protection compliance with GDPR.  Only the user who knows the encryption password can access that stored cloud data!  If you lose or forget the encryption password then the data is lost to everyone, including Acronis.

To create backups using ATI 2021 to any non-Cloud destinations, simply configure your Source then click on the Destination panel and select a different location to store the backup image(s).
