How can I see what is being backed up?

Thread needs solution

I have a backup with the full/incremental scheme, running daily.

The incremental backups now take about 3 hours and are backing up 30GB+. There is no way that much data is changing daily.

How can I find out what is being backed up in each incremental backup?

How can I reduce the time these incremental backups take?

Andrew, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but there is no obvious method of seeing what exactly is being backed up in each incremental backup being created.

Please submit Feedback directly to Acronis (use the tool provided in the GUI Help section) and ask for your vote to be added to the Acronis internal feature request: TI-160287 Show the list of file saved in an incremental\diff backup

Incremental backups capture all changes that have occurred since the prior backup was created, i.e. a full or previous incremental backup.  Avoid using any defragmentation tools which cause data to be moved or consolidated can help, especially when creating Disks & Partitions backups.

The logs for your backup task(s) may offer some clues about why they are taking longer to complete?

There is a new MVP Assistant log viewer tool that has now been made available by Acronis via the Community Tools page..

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backup using same) then look in the Demon logs.

Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.

The log files should be zipped to preserve their original file names if sharing in the forums and would need to be less than 3MB in size, otherwise you would need to share the zip file via a Cloud share service such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc.

I went back to Acronis 2014. Incremental backups now take 15 minutes instead of 3 hours.

So frustrating. Every time I pay money to Acronis I regret it. I keep hoping for the new versions with the same functionality but bug fixes, but every new version is a redesign that loses functionality and has more bugs.
