How to stop backup that is taking too long

I have a disk system backup to Acronis cloud scheduled to run every night and shut off computer when done. This works well except sometimes the backup can take much longer than the usual 2-3 hours. I have no problem letting it run (sometimes 12 hours) except that I do not want the computer to shut off during my work day. I know that I can pause the backup, but then any other backups (I run a specific folder backup every morning) are queued.
What I would like to do is just to stop and eliminate the offending backup. Tech support has done this for me in the past but I need to know the simplest, least disruptive way to do this. Why does Acronis make this so hard I wonder?
