Increase size of windows partition with dual boot

Thread needs solution

I just cloned the 500gb hard drive in my laptop and upgraded to a 2tb ssd. The clone went fine and I can boot just fine from the new ssd. The only thing is the windows 10 partition is still 500gb. There are about 1.3tb of unallocated space on the new drive. I'm trying to use some of the unallocated space to increase the size of the primary c: drive windows partition, and use the remainder of the unallocated space to create a new linux partition on the drive. I've read the Disk Director 12.5 user's guide to try and figure it out and keep coming up with an interesting colour of mauve. In other words I can't figure this out from one end to the other. I've been using computers for a number of years, but maybe I desended into the bowels on idiocy or something but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If anyone knows how to do this or where to point me to where I can figure this out? Thanks in advance.

You may find it easier to use the free Minitool Partition Wizard. It seems to be better suited tho the task. If there is a small recovery partition move it to the end of the available space.

Agree with Ian, download a copy of the free MiniTool Partition Wizard software and use this, especially if intending to use EXT4 partitions for your Linux dual-boot OS later, as DD does not have support for EXT4 !!
