Issues with Acronis 2021 Build 39216 where PC wont boot to Windows

Thread needs solution

I installed the latest version ATI yesterday and found my PC just wouldn't boot into Window as it kept on going to preparing automatic repair and then failed.

The only option left was to boot into recovery using F11 and restore to a recent backup that had ATI build 39184 installed.

I did try uninstalling the old version then rebooting PC and then installing the latest version but this also failed.

The machine that has a problem was only recently purchased (less than 3 weeks) so I know it shouldn't have any conflicting software.

=============================

I've raised a support ticket and waiting on a response, just wondering if anyone else has a problem?

My subscription for ATI renews in 6 days so would like the issue resolved before then otherwise I will need to cancel the subscription.

Thanks Martyn

Martyn, welcome to these public User Forums.

Update 5 / build 39216 was only released yesterday and while I have upgraded 2 of my own PC's without issue, including doing restarts of Windows 10, I haven't seen any reports in these forums from other users hitting the issue you have described here!

At this point, you are probably best advised to wait on Acronis responding to your support case and if necessary, cancelling your subscription if this is a serious concern and you don't have large volumes of data stored in the Acronis Cloud that would also be lost.

Returning to the boot issue with 39216...  do you have any third-party security applications active that could be preventing changes or updates to Windows Registry, and in particular to the Filter driver entries (fltsrv), which are the most likely reason for the issue here?
