Is it possible to modify a back job after it is created?
I would like to exclude some more folders from may backup, or change other minor parameters. I can't find a UI to do this. In the past out of desperation I would delete a job and create a new one. Where is the UI for modifying and existing job?

yes, I do use exclusions when I create the backup jobs, and these are "disk" backup jobs (they actually go to my NAS, but same thing). I do use Windows on this machine, btw. The issue I have is not how to pick the exclusions, it's how do I change anything at all about an *existing* job. The drop down menu let's me do many things, but change a job once it has been created isn't one of them.
So - my questions isn't about exclusions and what to exclude, it's about the True Image UI, and how does one edit an existing job. A hypothetical example might be I want to change how often the job runs, or change an incremental backup setting. But I can't find any UI anywhere to modify and existing job. Only to make a completely new one, which of course would work, but is very inconvenient.

Bruce, sorry but this is where my lack of any experience with the Mac version of ATI is obvious! All that you ask about is easy in the Windows version but I have no Mac system to compare against!

Bruce you could try posting in the Acronis True Image for Mac Forum, where the MAC users congregate.

everyone - I am asking about windows. It's true I asked a different question before about mac, but I maintain a family network with both. This question about modifying jobs is specifically about the windows version.

Bruce, there shouldn't be any problems with changing any Windows backup tasks provided that these are not running at the time you try to make changes.
What exactly are you trying to change and to what type of backup task?

Steve Smith: could you please, please, please tell the how to modify a job? What do you click? Where do you click it. You ask what am I trying to change? At the moment I would like to change the excluded folders setting.
Just to be 1000 percent clear, I understand most of the parameters in jobs, I know how to set them up, having done it many, many times.
I *just* can't find the UI to modify an already created job. That's it! Just the UI. Is it in the context menu? somewhere else? I can't find it.
If this doesn't make sense - take a look at my original post? I tried to convey this information. Please let me know how I can phrase this question to make it understandable.

Bruce, what type of backup task is this that you want to modify? Is it for 'Disks & Partitions' or is it for 'Files & Folders'? This makes a difference as I mentioned in my post #1 above.

Bruce, when you have selected the backup task and are on the Backup tab on the right side of the window, is there not an Options button near the bottom of the window?

I am having the same issue! ATI-2021on Mac (Catalina)
There is no Options button on the bottom of the window. The only solution I have found is to completely delete the backup and start from scratch. A real pain!
Help would be appreciated.

Posters,
Screenshot below is to benefit everyone with respect to the Options button discussed here:
If you do not see this Options button then I suggest that you first use the task drop down menu to select Delete, then select Remove to remove the task from the GUI. Next, click on the down arrow carat located to the right of the + Add backup at the bottom of the middle column of the GUI. Use the resulting navigation screen to navigate to the just removed backup location, click on the 12KB file in the list of backups and then click Add. Once the task appears back in the GUI hopefully the Options button will be available again. If you do not see a 12KB file in the location then select the most recently created backup file in the list and click Add.

That's was it! I didn't realize that the lone "options" button was what I click on. It's all there! thanks!
Note to Acronis - it's kind of a nutty UI where each job (on the left in the "Backups" list) has a drop down menu that has a bunch of option, but the one most people want of down in a separate button. Would it be so difficult or strange to put the "backup options" in the drop down for that job, along with all the other entries?
