Latest version not logging properly. (Windows 39184)

Thread needs solution

I am just wondering if anyone else has this problem.  Since upgrading to build 39184 (windows) on 11th March, my cloud backups are no longer being logged in the app.  They are still happening, and do show in the popup from the notification area icon, just not in the main application.  Local backups to USB are still logging properly.

I have raised this with support, as at first I was worried the backups weren't happening at all.  But they've now closed it saying backups are working!

I still want to know why not logging, but before I make too much of a fuss I just wanted to know if I was alone with this problem.

Alan, what exactly do you mean by the cloud backups are not logging in the app?

Can you post some screen shots showing what you expect to see and what you are seeing?

OK sure.

See from image1 the task did run today.

See from image 2 the system logs it last run on 11th March.

I am expecthing screenshot 2 to show me that it backed up today.

The system tray pop up list does show it having run (image 3)

Alan, thanks for the screen shots.  Looking at the Activity panel, it looks like you simply need to scroll to the top of the page to see the missing entries!

The white area on the right suggests you are looking at the middle or lower part of the panel information.

Hello,

I am experiencing the same problem as AlanS : log files displays are not up to date since the last upgrade to build 39184. The problem seems to affect only 'Files and folders' backups; it does not affect 'Disks and partitions' backups.

I have attached  screenshots for a folder that was backed up yesterday. I can confirm I did scroll to the top of the Activity window !

Thanks

Vacoas, welcome to these public User Forums.

It looks like just some users are seeing this issue as there is another topic in the forum for the same issue as here:

Topic: Bug: Acronis activity logs not updating after TI 2021 build 39184

I have tried to recreate this on my own PC but have not been successful in doing so and the activity panel information for my files & folders backup to the Acronis Cloud has been updating / showing correctly.
Note: I had recently decided to clean out all my Acronis Cloud backups, so this was a brand new backup task to the U.K. (London) data centre for testing this issue (if that makes any difference here?).

I would suggest that you and Alan should submit new Support Cases for this issue to report it to Acronis with reference to this and the other topic reporting the same issue!  Alan, you should be able to request that your closed support case is reopened!

Thanks Steve and Vacoas, I have a new screenshot to prove that the scrollbar was at the top.

My cloud backups are on the UK data centre too.

Reassuring to see I am not the only one - I will add this information to my support ticket.

Cheers,
Alan

Thanks AlanS and Steve, I opened a support call earlier.

My cloud backups are all on the French data centre.

I'll update my support ticket with the forum issues information.

Cheers,

Vacoas

I have had an update to my ticket, they suggested I do a "clean install" which I have done.  The problem still remains with my existing backups but creating a new one it is logged correctly.

Obviously I will feed back to support but just letting you folks know here as well.

It seems a bit extreme to have to delete my existing backups and start again, but if that's what it takes...  Must be some change of format in the way the data is stored or something.

Cheers,
Alan

Just an update for everyone interested - one of my existing backups did get a log, so I went back over old ground.  I think I neglected to mention that one thing suggested was to "edit" the backup - change the source files (e.g. just add another folder and then remove it again in my case as it was a "files and folders" type backup.  Doing this again after re-installing to my other existing backups and they are now logging properly again.

Hope this helps others.  I've updated my ticket.

Cheers,
Alan

Good thinking Alan ! I have updated all my "files and folders" backups by adding then removing another folder. And all these backups are now logging properly. Many thanks for your suggestion.

I'll update my ticket accordingly.

Have a good day,

Vacoas
