Log Grooming?

Thread needs solution

All of my backups are of the form full ->  daily incrementals->full with chain limit of 3

Im pretty sure anything that happened in 2017 is completely useless.

I would keep them if there was any conceivable reason why I would care in 2021 that a daily incremental was missed in Aug of 2016

I have seen the MVP log viewer (which is excellent) but  it doesnt appear to groom logs, but simply filters them from view.

Is there anyway for TI to cleanup this info itself or does it have a utility?

Paul, TI does not do it, but the MVP Assistant does. Look at the pinned forum topic about the Assistant.

Please read the Log Viewer documentation in the Help. In a nutshell, the process is to first cull your view of the logs so it is only showing the logs you want to remove. Then you can remove them. There are ways to save them first as well.

I tried to make this powerful, but also relatively safe. It's just important to know how to do it right. Be happy to answer any specific questions about the process.
