Mounting and Unmounting Archives in the new ATI 2021

Thread solved

I updated today and with anticipation of the mounting capability with .tibx files I tried to make it work.  Typically I arrived at the page in the wizard where one chooses the partition to mount and there is not option to "proceed" only "next."  Next gets to a Summary page with no option to proceed to mount the chosen archive.  Just wondering how others are doing and if there may be something I am missing.  Following the instructions in HELP is not working for me.

You may have stumbled on a bug identified in Beta 2 a few days back. With a multi-partition drive you cannot mount just one partition, you must mount them all. If you select only one it just stalls without an explanation.

I discovered a work around that mounts a single partition.  After reaching the summary with only a "next" option click "drive letter" in the left panel.  Now the "proceed" button is available and the mount is successful.

From the User Guide pg. 182 section 11.8 Mounting an image:

How to mount an image

1.In File Explorer, right-click the image file that you want to mount, and then click Mount image. The Mount wizard opens.

2.Select the backup for mounting by its creation date/time. Thus, you can explore the data state at a certain moment.

3.[optional step] On the Drive letter step, select a letter to be assigned to the virtual disk from the Mount letter drop-down list. If you do not want to mount a partition, select Do not mount in the list or clear the partition's check box.

4.Click Proceed.

5.After the image is connected, the program will run File Explorer, showing its contents.

Enchantech,

Those instructions were followed precisely and failed.  After the last step there was no "proceed" button.  The wizard simply stalled to use the terminology of IanL-S.  As I posted above, I did find a work around.

The problem is with File Explorer.  For some reason explorer will not display the drive letter after the mount is established.  This probably is a bug in the mount feature of the app.  I found that once you run the mount process on the Summary page I do get a Proceed button.  Clicking Proceed completes the mount action and is confirmed by the application.  The mounted drive letter however does not appear in Explorer.  Closing explorer and reopening it will display the mounted drive letter.

Thanks for reporting the problem. We have filed a new bug TI-208584. The problem reproduces when one partition is selected.

I can suggest a workaround: when you get to the last step with a brief description of the operation, click "Drive Letter" in the left menu, taking one step back. You will see the 'Proceed' button.
