Multiple Disks on Single Backup Task

Thread solved

I have been backing up my C and E drives using a single backup task without any issues; however, I see recommendations to split those backups into single drive tasks.  One of the reasons I see is to be able to recover a single drive only; however, when I look at disk recovery I am able to select either the C or E disk and seemingly recover only one drive.  Am I missing something?  Thanks.

Greg, this will always be a matter of user choice.  For myself, I have always preferred to only have a single drive per task as this, for me, is more flexible and easier to handle in the event of any recovery.

Backup file sizes are smaller with only a single drive, which in turn improves backup performance, especially when writing to network or cloud locations.

I have never had a multiple drive failure in any of my PC's, so being able to pick just one backup image for recovery is a simple choice.

I also can use different backup schedules for each disk according to how often changes occur.

Finally, I have multiple different backups of the same disks going to different destinations at differing frequency, so no single point of risk for the backup data.
