Need help deleting boot up Checking for media

Thread needs solution

Tried using new load of TrueImage, when it runs it says waiting for media, answered yes, no, cancel, it never works.  I uninstalled the software, now when turning on computer or doing a restart it takes very long time to boot up get message Checking for media, Media present, Start PXE over ipv4, then changes to IPV6.  This happens every time I restart.  Please, need to delete this from start up.  Searched all likely places, uninstall appears to have removed everything except whatever computer is looking for at start up.

Additional info, I have two same size drives one is SATA, one is PCE, so suspect that is why install did not work.

Please help, thank you.

e jh,

More information is needed to provide help with this.  Generally you will see the "Start PXE over ipv4, then changes to IPV6" when a machine device boot order has been disturbed (changed).  The references to PXE, ipv4, and ipv6 indicate the machine is looking for boot media sources on network connections.  This is typical for machines which come from OEM manufacturers like Dell, HP, Acer, etc. as they use networking to perform installs on machine in mass and then do not bother to turn off the capability presumably for technical support reasons.

Do you know how to boot the machine into BIOS setup mode?  This is usually accomplished by pressing an F2, F12, F8, or Del key repeatedly during startup.  Once you have access to the setup mode you can check your device boot order and hopefully correct the issue.

Appreciate your input.  Reset bios back to default and it stopped the message Start PXE over IP4/IP6 at boot up.  Install of True Image must have changed the bios, as it was not doing this before the TI install.

Is it possible to clone a drive when one is a SATA and one is PXE with TI?  True Image install kept giving me the error message that it was waiting on media to start, so maybe not?

Thank you.

I have never known installing ATI to cause any change to BIOS settings.  The only time a change in that area is made is when the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (ASRM) feature is enabled in order to give a F11 prompt on initial boot to launch a stand-alone Linux based OS environment to run ATI from outside of Windows.

Cloning is only possible between directly connected disk drives, i.e. using SATA or USB - there is no support for PXE in ATI.
