No Current Partition error

Thread needs solution

Anyone else have this issue?  After using Acronis (true image 2021) for months, suddenly I am getting this error message: "No current partition". Note that no changes have been made to the selected options.

I don't even know what the message is attempting to communicate, and there are no articles available in the knowledge base that I can find. Uploaded picture shows a red "X" depicting that Acronis refuses to backup the selected files to the destination chosen?

The configuration hasn't changed, and the last B/U was 7/6, 3 days ago...so this is a complete mystery...other than Windows did an update this morning, nothing has changed.

I have tried two different external HD's and get this same error message, so I don't think it's a problem with the external HD. Using Windows File Explorer I have full access to the external HD's, so it isn't an issue of not having access (as far as I can see).

I'm on Windows 10 x64, backup to an external HD. That never changes: I periodically copy the files from the "primary" external HD to a second external HD and store rotating "2nd HD's" offsite.

Thanks for any insights!

Einar, welcome to these public User Forums.

The 'no current partition' error message indicates that the partition unique identifier (GUID) for either the source or destination data for your backup task has changed and therefore you should reselect these to correct the error.

This can happen when Windows Updates are installed causing the Windows Recovery partition to be recreated which in turn changes other partition identifiers.
