Notfallmedium von True Image, Release 11. März 2021, verbietet Wiederherstellung lokaler ("nicht-Cloud") Backups

Thread needs solution

Guten Abend,

Good evening,

My last rescue media from True Image 2019 or 2020 allowed the restoration of local backups via the 'rescue boot medium' (burned on DVD), both at drive and file level.

Today I created a new emergency boot DVD in the version from March 11th (Build 25.7.39184) and tried it out. Restoring local backups is no longer supported; they have to be stored in the 'cloud'!

For home users like me, this restriction is daunting. I don't back up anything in the 'cloud'. If you can no longer restore a local backup via the emergency boot DVD, True Image 2021 ff. Is useless to me.

Is there a solution for this?

Regards.

Hans-Joerg, I have not seen any such restrictions when using ATI 2021 and using the rescue media to do any recovery, though I have not tested this since installing the latest #39184 build!

Which option did you use to create the DVD rescue media?  Was this the 'Simple' WinPE version or did you use a different, Advanced option?

Note: I will try to do some testing with the #39184 rescue media later today!

Hans-Joerg,

I built Simple WinRE media on a flash drive with TI 2021 39184 and am able to see all internal backups.  I was unable however to connect to any of my network attached storage which I store backups on as well thus any files there I could not access.  I do see that an option for Cloud recovery is now available in the boot media.

I am going to build new media using the Advanced option in hopes of getting the required network components added for access to network storage.  Doing the above I found that the netuse command responded with error "Not a recognized internal command".  So I do not have my hopes up.

Testing recovery from local drives is working fine in the ATI 2021 #39184 WinRE media but attempting to recover from a network drive / NAS lets me connect but was reluctant to let me browse to where the backup files were stored until left alone for a while!

So while the rescue media seems a little slower, it was still working for recovery from other than the Acronis Cloud.  Plus it was also working if I signed in to the Acronis Cloud too, albeit very slowly too!

Update:

Rebuilt the USB flash media using the Advanced option to create WinPE media.  With that I was able to source all network storage and other attached devices.  I could also connect to the Cloud which did not take overly long, about 2 minutes.  not having any data on the cloud when connection was made there was nothing to display so I assume that if you had data on the cloud it would appear.

Obviously we are not able to reproduce the OP issue.
