Observation: restoring Acronis image results in "crippled "hard drive performance

Thread needs solution

I just reinstalled Windows completely from scratch. I also installed all the available Windows updates. I ran speed tests of the hard drive where I exceeded more than 100 MB/sec running multiple benchmark tests after the fresh installation.

I have installed some additional programs and the results were similar.  I decided to reboot and restore my Acronis image from above.  After the re-imaging was complete I ran benchmark speed tests and the drive became "crippled" with about 4-5 MB/second average speeds.

I don't know if anyone else has had similar experiences, but it's quite disturbing to see how re-imaging can create such an issue behind the scenes.

Hard to know what is going on; I would suggest is could be caused by ATI doing a virus scan, although that was supposed to be fixed the hot fix released shortly after ATI 2021 was released. You have not provided any information indicating that ATI is the cause - what processes are causing the write activity. On the iPad at the moment so cannot confirm the process to identify the culprit.
