Please, make it stop

Thread needs solution

My daily backup started as normal then I realized there isn't enough space on the target. So I stopped it.  But it keeps running, For the past 10 minutes alI I see is "processing" and a spinning blue circle.  I closed Acronis and re-opened it. The message says it's running with 40 minutes left to go. So I clicked the Stop button again. I got the popup asking if I want to cancel the operation. I clicked Yes and now I have the  spinning blue circle and "processing"

How can I make it stop?. Or do I have to wait for my target disk to fill up?

If you are able to open the ATI 2021 GUI and see your other backup tasks, then you should also be able to use the 'Clean up versions' tool for any other backups that use the same destination target, so that you can try to create more backup space on the drive.

Beyond doing the above, the only other way of cancelling out of a hanging job is to go into Windows Task Manager and kill the TrueImage.exe and other Acronis tasks you see active, such as backup_worker etc.

The backup job eventually ended,  Seems to be OK.  But the notification eMail  says it was cancelled by user.  So ATI knows I cancelled the job but decided to run it to completion anyway.  How nice.

I changed the target to a different location and ran it again successfully.
