protection trial notification

Thread needs solution

Hi, is there a way I can deactivate these notifications I'm attaching? I don't need a constant reminder of expired Protection Trial, I've already deactivate it on the main ATI interface. It makes me think there is something I have to take care of when there is not given that I already use other software to protect my computer from malware and I'm not gonna change it. I've paid for software to backup my drive, I don't understand why do I need to see this unrelated message all the time?

I'm also counting 16 processes related to Acronis on my Mac? What is the point of all this?? I just need a backup every now and then. Is there a way to deactivate all these processes?

This Acronis Protection thing is supposed to protect you from malware but by pestering your computer with processes and making it impossible to fully deactivate it behaves itself as malware!

chelozz, welcome to these public User Forums.

Caveat: I am a Windows user with no direct experience of using ATI on any Mac.

Sorry but you will need to send a private message to Ekateria (forum moderator) who can get your Acronis Account removed from the list to be send these annoying notifications about the expired trial of the new Cyber Protect features!

I have not been able to find a list of all the Acronis Services / Processes for the Mac OS version (as there is for Windows) so you would again need to ask Acronis about this and whether any of the active services can be safely stopped / disabled?

Please submit Feedback directly to Acronis (use the tool provided in the GUI Help section) and complain about the imposition of these new protection features plus ask for your vote to be added to the Acronis internal change request: TI-213392 Allow installation without Antimalware components

Had the same question myself.  Got into contact with Acronis support and was basically told that there's no way to remove it, short of going back in time and convincing your younger self not to start the trial.

Really not impressed.  I've already paid for my license of the software, several years in a row.  I don't expect to be pushed towards starting a subscription every single day that I neither want nor need.

I would definitely encourage all ATI 2021 users to submit Feedback direct to Acronis for all issues being encountered and especially when these prevent normal or correct use of the application.  If more users use Feedback, then Acronis would get a better understanding of the real strength of feeling running through the user community with the changes being introduced and the need to give users fuller control over what they install / use!

I have the same problem.  I wasn't impressed with the active anti-malware and didn't purchase after the 3 month trial was over.  Now it just won't leave me alone.  It has to send a message EVERY day after EVERY boot that my trial is over and I'm unprotected.  I am NOT unprotected and I see no way of killing this irritating message, short of uninstalling the entire product.

Not only that, during the trial it labeled all the websites I visited as "Fake News".  Seriously, it's insulting and unrelated to malware protection.

Acronis 2021 is acting like malware.   Please give us the ability to turn this off!

Hello Everyone,

I'm afraid the pop-up cannot be disabled in the current update, the issue is already being worked on as part of TI-218615 Add option for disabling notifications for expired Advanced Protection trial. Please accept our apologies for the temporary inconvenience!

Thanks for updating us, Ekaterina.  That's great to hear, and all we really wanted.  Now that I know it'll be dealt with, I'm happy to wait patiently for that update.
