Recovering archived backup files

Thread solved

I appreciate this is a simple question but how do I recover a full differential back up set which is stored on my NAS? I can find the file but it doesn't show within ATI to recover, am I right in assuming I just need to mount it first and then it will be available via recovery within ATI?

Questions mainly at this point:

Was this full differential backup created by the same version of ATI as you have installed?

What type of backup is this?  Disks & Partitions or is it Files & Folders?

What extension is used the the backup files?  .TIBX or .TIB?

If the backup set was created by your installed ATI application, does the task show in the list of backups?  If the task is shown, then is it also shown in the Recovery tab for that task?

If the task doesn't show in the ATI GUI, then you need to use the 'Add existing backup' option (located to the right of the normal 'Add backup' option but hidden behind the caret there).

What is the backup source?  Is this from the same PC, or a different PC?

What are you wanting to recover from this backup set?

If wanting to recover your Windows OS disk, then it is strongly recommended to boot the PC from the Acronis Rescue Media to do that type of recovery, not to start the recovery from within Windows.  The latter would require a restart of the PC to boot into a temporary Linux based environment.

Hi Stephen

Thank you for your response which provided sufficient information for me to restore my backup.
