Simple Step-by-Step Process for moving data and licenses between P.C.'s

Thread solved

Sorry, it seems that this probably exists but I can't find it. If it exists, a simple pointer would be great.

Next week I will be moving my work (1.4 TB of data) from one p.c. to another. I still only need a single license of Acronis as the old p.c. will be used for something non-critical.

(1) Is there somewhere a simple step-by-step guide on moving the Acronis licensing between the p.c.'s?

(2) I would also like to try a complete save of the old data on the old p.c. and a restore on the new p.c. just to verify it actual works. Not that I doubt you guys/gals ... but, you know, user error is always a problem.  :) Individual restores have worked great for me, but, fortunately, I have never had to do a complete restore and this would be a nice test.

The second request is not critical as a simple xcopy will get the job done. I usually get quite frustrated with vendors 'licensing' protections when moving and would to at least like to prevent that if possible.

Any pointers to this information?

Cheers,

- Pete

Pete,

The link below should answer your licensing questions.  As far as transferring your user data, if you do not have an overwhelming amount then copy and paste should work just fine for you and save some time as well.
