TI 2021 -SKIP

Thread solved

been reading about TI2021, looks like its skip this version at the moment, too many bugs, too little features to upgrade for (2020->2021)

I'll revisit the forums in 6-12months to see if its a different story

Thanks Acronis for protecting my data (TI2020)

Cheers

Mike

Mike, welcome to these public User Forums.

Probably a wise decision at this moment in time until at least the next update build version has been released and some of the reported issues resolved.

Steve, I did install ATI 2021 v.30480 and am not happy with its performance and sundry problems. What would be the best way to revert to ATI 2020 v.25700? I still have the earlier version in my downloads directory.

Al, the best method of reverting to an earlier version of ATI such as 2020 is to do a normal Windows uninstall via the Control Panel > Programs & Features option, followed by a Windows restart to remove items that need the extra step.

If you want to truly remove all trace of ATI 2021, you could then follow up by running the Acronis Cleanup Tool and a further restart of Windows, but be aware that this will remove all installed Acronis programs, not just ATI, and you will need to reconfigure your backup tasks.

One option if you have a Disk backup from prior to upgrading to 2021 is to do both of the above, then before doing a clean install of 2020, to restore the C:\ProgramData\Acronis folders and contents from that older backup, which will put back your tasks to how they were at the time the backup was created, and then be found by the new install of 2020.

Thank you Steve, I just uninstalled ATI 2021 from Control Panel, copied the C:\ProgramData\Acronis folder from a previous ATI 2020 backup and copied it back before installing ATI 2020. I skipped the Acronis Cleanup Tool step. The ATI install went fine and all tasks and info were intact.

Guess I'll have to monitor this forum for awhile until they get ATI 2021 right. I wish these programs would stay with what they do well. I can't imagine adding antivirus to ATI is much of a selling point...in fact, anyone with any experience with software has seen this scenario before and watched their favorite program go downhill.
