.TIBX New Requirement of Relying on First Backup Question

Thread needs solution

Does TI rely on the very first backup of the job ever made or does it require the first backup in the chain?

For example if I do a weekly full with 6 incrementals or 6 differentials and it ran successfully for 20 weeks, does TI require access to the very first backup 20 weeks ago or just the last full backup?

Im just trying to understand how this dependency works.

Thanks

Paul, if you are doing disk backups where .tibx files are created, then you must use the TI interface to clean up versions. Yes, everything is basically chained, and if you use cleanup rules in your tasks, then TI will get rid of what is no longer valid. BUT... it will always keep the first file, which will be reduced to 12K in size but is important to have.
