True Image 2021 FTP Server connections

Thread needs solution

Hi, Just bought the software and I'm trying to set up backups for 2 computers on my network to a shared drive on my router through FTP.  I have one system currently running the backup just fine.  I tried to set up my second computer to the same FTP server, but with a different user. True Image on the second computer initially let me make a new FTP connection, and tested successfully, but now when I try and look at my FTP connection, I get the icon indicating the folder is open, but I'm not even seeing an option to make a new connection.

The second computer can connect to the FTP server through Windows Explorer, but True Image doesn't show anything.

So: True Image on first computer on a network functions fine backing up to a local network FTP.  True Image on second computer, under a different FTP user than the first computer won't let me even try to connect to the same FTP server even though I can access the FTP server on the second computer using other means.

Any ideas on what is causing this, and how to fix?

Paul, welcome to these public User Forums.

My first question here is to ask why you want to use FTP if both your PC's and the shared drive are all on the same local network?

Acronis FTP is insecure and doesn't support SFTP or FTPS plus will split all backups into 2GB file segments which can cause other issues with large backups because of how open connections are handled.

Using SMB 2 or higher is more reliable and handles full file sizes etc as well as being more secure.

Have you tested FTP from the second PC using the same FTP user as for the first one, but using a separate destination target folder to keep the files separate?
