TrueImageMonitor.exe now runs under the SYSTEM account and can't be stopped/removed easily

Thread needs solution

Me like many others don't want a system tray app running all the time that comes from the TrueImageMonitor.exe. Along with several other services we don't need. Just to be clear, we don't want to just turn off notifications, we don't want the TIM exe running at all.

There's no way to disable this with the software, so in the past, we've had to hack our way around it by deleting the file.

However, with the latest update, TrueImageMonitor.exe now runs under the SYSTEM account.

Please tell me why this was done and why there's no way in the software to stop this exe from running as it's NOT integral to the backups.

It seems like you knew people were stopping this exe.

John, have you tried disabling TIM in the Windows Task Manager Start-up options?

TIM just shows up as Acronis True Image 2021 but if you click on Open file location, this will confirm that it is TIM that is being started.

I haven't played with this as haven't seen the need to do so, but would suspect that TIM would get launched if the ATI GUI is opened.
